Linda Franz

Linda Franz is an award winning Canadian quilter. In addition to her appearances on QNN, you may recognize her from Simply Quits with Alex Anderson. She learned to sew on a sewing machine before she was old enough to go to kindergarten and has enjoyed sewing clothes and soft furnishings for most of her life, but was not exposed to quilting until she took a sampler class on a whim in 1993. Her first hand pieced bed quilt won a First Place ribbon at the AQS show in Paducah, among other awards. Linda has a BA in English Literature and graduated from the University of Toronto Law School with an LLB. She self-published Quilted Diamonds: Jane Austen, Jane Stickle & Friends and Quilted Diamonds 2: more Austen-tatious diamonds to hand piece, and they are available in quilt shops in the US, Europe, Australia and Canada. Linda and her husband Russell Bays live in Burlington Ontario in the summer. Every autumn they load the car with fabric and Jane Austen's novels and head south to spend the winter in Naples Florida.
