We at Quilters TV ("QTV") know that our online QTV community is new to many of you and that the community is evolving each and every day. Some of you have had questions on navigating through the site, viewing the videos, downloading your patterns, etc.
Listed below are some of the Frequently Asked Questions that have been sent into QTV about the video line ups. The questions vary from general information to the hard technical information about the video feed. Watching QTV Video Broadcasts
Q: When I try to watch QTV, the video area is white or blank.
A: Check to make sure that your browser settings allow you to run Java Script and that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash player installed on your computer. You can find the latest version of Flash at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/. Also, if you have ad blocking software such as McAfee Privacy Services or Charter Security Suite, the loading of the Adobe Flash based video player may be blocked, so you will need to turn off this functionality.
Q: What are the system requirements for watching video on QTV?
A: Microsoft Windows Systems: Microsoft Windows XP or later, Adobe Flash Player 7 or later, and either Internet Explorer 6 or later, Firefox 2.0 or later or Netscape .7.5 or later.
A: Apple Macintosh Systems: Mac OS-X 10.4, Adobe Flash Player 7 or later and Safari 2.0 or later.
Q: Do I have to register to watch the QTV video/broadcasts?
A: No. There will be a membership in the future with special programs and features, but the core video programming is free.
Q: I can only see a portion of the QTV schedule, is there a weekly schedule available?
A: Yes and it will be updated every Monday for the following week.
Q: Why do I not have the ability to watch full screen.
A: We have chosen a larger format that maximized the video quality and delivery, but there is currently no full screen option.
Q: Can I download the videos to my computer or watch shows on-demand?
A: No, but you can select any video from the daily list and watch it when you choose all day.
Q: I can see the video but I receive no sound. What is wrong?
A: Check to see if your speakers are turned on and your system volume is not set to mute. Be sure your speakers are securely plugged into your computer's sound card and you hear sounds while doing other things such as web browsing or the sound that is played when you start-up your computer. You may also want to check the volume settings for your computer to see if you have the volume too low or the audio muted. On a Microsoft Windows PC, you can check your computer's sound settings by opening "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the "Control Panel" found on your start menu.
Q: What can I do if my video is choppy or buffers repeatedly?
A: You need to check your internet connection speed. QTV is build for broadband Internet connections only. If you are trying to watch QTV through AOL, then exit the AOL browser and trying watching QTV using Internet Explorer or Firefox instead.
